Anne Saffron began her high school student teaching actually in Lewiston, ME in Lewiston High School in ceramics classes. After much discussion she was switched out of that placement and placed in Dover High School in Dover, NH. She went from her comfort medium of clay to a brand new medium to her which was film photography. Anne had to crash learn film photography so she could teach her juniors and seniors how to develop film, make a contact sheet, make test strips, and then their final print. She did get to bring her clay skills into play with her Creative Arts students that were studying the modality of music in which Anne taught the students how to create clay rattles and whistles.
Anne spent two weeks in Lewiston and five weeks at Dover teaching high school students how to create a variety of projects. Photo I kids were taught the basics of film photography. Creative Arts were taught clay rattles and whistles. Photo II Anne's advanced student didn't necessarily need to be taught anything new but Anne challenged them with creative assignments such as recreating a fairytale through stills and a photo scavenger hunt.

Photo II having a critique on their Fairytale Creations Assignment. Students were required to pick a fairytale and recreate it through photo stills. The student could choose to be direct or could take a more modernized approach. Students were very involved and enthused about the project and had a lot of fun creating this series. The students have requested it becomes a mandatory project for future Photo II students.

Creative Arts students created ceramic instruments and worked on composing music that will be performed with their instruments. Students used acrylic paint as opposed to glaze to give them more options when considering surface design and color choice.
Creative Arts ranged from Freshman to Seniors and was geared towards the "non-artist" and focused on the different modalities of art. My time was spent working with the modality of music.
